Creating Confident, Consistent Managers Across a Growing Organization

Challenge

A Canadian dairy co-operative with 800 employees experienced rapid growth over five years, promoting many individual contributors into management roles. The organization needed clear, shared expectations for managers and a consistent approach to developing leadership capability aligned with its strategy.

Engagement

sr4 partnered with HR leaders to design and facilitate a four-day, in-person Manager Academy. The program combined core leadership modules, skill practice, and team-based application activities, all tailored to organizational values and engagement priorities, with post-program reinforcement to support application.

Results

The Academy established clear leadership expectations across the organization. 95% of managers reported confidence in meeting expectations, a 25% increase. Participants also reported greater confidence, energy, and support in their roles. The success of the program led to the Academy being repeated with multiple cohorts.
